Nyawĩra is a Singer – Songwriter  and Music Producer  from Kenya. She is fondly referred to as “Nyawĩra Siren” due to her strong connection to the water element, her magnificent voice timbre, and her deep passion for the art of sound.

 

Nyawĩra’s music blends Gĩkũyũ Folk Sounds with Reggae, Neo-Soul, House, and Jazz influences. She writes and sings in Gĩkũyũ, Swahili, and English, crafting a unique sonic tapestry that is both deeply rooted in her cultural heritage and globally resonant. She has named her genre “Urban Folk Soul”.

Nyawĩra Siren is a versatile Singer-Songwriter, Music Producer, Session Musician, and Voice Artiste  who has been making and performing music since 2012.

 

She has named her music genre “Urban Folk Soul”; A fusion drawn from blending elements of Jazz, Neo-Soul, Reggae, Soul  and House with her cultural Gĩkũyũ Folk Sounds, from Kenya.

 

Nyawĩra is a pioneering multi-disciplinary artist who uses her music to bring her fans back to themselves, their core – back home to their true essence as souls first, and as part of something bigger than themselves – Life.

 

Her most recent release is the song “Kumĩrĩra,” which expresses the pride she takes in being an African woman. She’s currently working on her highly anticipated album “Kĩhumo • 33°”, which is due for release in 2025.

 

Nyawĩra has performed with acclaimed African musical acts like Franck Biyong  from Cameroon and Juma Tutu from Kenya. She has also collaborated with artists from around the world, including Natty Rico  from Miami, FL  and Dubai-based Russian Dj, Atlantis.

 

Through her versatile artistry and commitment to her roots, Nyawĩra has established herself as a powerful musical voice championing authenticity, African Identity and Pride. Her fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds, along with her impactful lyrical themes have resonated with audiences both at home and abroad.
